Doula Update 2013

I have just come back 'on call' after an unexpected 3 weeks of holiday time came free over Christmas and the new year.  Ahhh...how lovely it is to feel the space that comes with taking a break.  From the last time I blogged about not being 'on call' and 'taking care of myself', I am happy to say that my year continued to see me be healthier and healthier. 

I let go of the more rigorous road cycling, and just ticked over doing a 40km ride once a week.  In its place I added 2 yoga classes.  I continue to go to 5 Rhythms dance (2 hrs of facilitated improvisation dancing).  In this facilitated and safe space I let go, process my emotions/thoughts/feelings, get fit, have fun and dance with delightful abandon for myself and with others. 

My mind and body are feeling so much more in tune with what I need to be; happy, helpful, true and well balanced.  My focus has been gently changing from 'doing' to 'being' with the knowing that the productive, achiever side of me will still have all things 'done' that I know are important.  It just got there in a different way.

I feel more at peace with myself and I am excited for what will unfold in 2013.
